Home Office

example of lighting a home office

What's the best way to light a home office?

Again, downlighters are good for an overall light (see our downlighter section) if for example to you need to lay out a lot of papers for reviewing a project or ready for filing.

For computer work, a desk lamp is ideal but you may also use a floor lamp with a flexible or angle-arm if desk-top space is limited (see our desk lamp section) Low or mains voltage halogen desk lamps are ideal for producing a clean, clear light for working by.

Take advantage of working at home by allowing yourself more personal touches than you can in a outside office. Use a picture light to highlight pictures or noticeboards, or try our portable Bullet spotlight (see our spotlight section) to highlight a plant, for example.

An uplighter in a corner (see floor lamp section) or a floor lamp beside an arm chair for any lengthy reading are good ideas.
