Wall lights are normally used to supplement the output of a ceiling light, but they can also be used as the primary lighting source when the main light is powered off, creating a more cosy and intimate ambience. Read More...
In fact, wall lights are suited to any situation where a floor lamp or table lamp would be appropriate, but with the added advantage of not requiring any floor or table space. On the other hand, wall lights are not portable, meaning that they're a more static lighting solution than floor and table lamps.
There are certain wall light designs in the Christopher Wray collection that overcome this portability issue by mounting the light source on the end of an adjustable arm.
In some ways, this can even be an improvement over the use of ordinary floor lamps or table lamps, because the light source is adjustable horizontally and vertically, allowing for precise illumination.
Wall lights are also ideal for use in hotels and guesthouses. Long corridors can be imparted with subtle elegance by the judicious use of appropriately placed wall lights. Very long corridors are best configured with a 4:1 ratio of wall lights to flush pendants.
How this works is that the wall outside each door can have a small wall light emplacement, and at every 4th interval an unobtrusive flush pendant provides additional light to keep the hallway feeling more spacious.
In the home, wall lights help add to the decorative touch, provide additional light in places where it is needed, and allow you to tone down the light in a room where you want a softer light.
The Christopher Wray collection has an amazing range of styles to choose from, perhaps the largest in the UK. Many of the wall lights from Christopher Wray are also available with matching items from the other collections, so be sure to ask one of our lighting consultants for advice when making your selections. Wall wash light like the original hanging model, has undergone a size mutation, from the world of architecture and building, echoed in it's raw material, to the domestic environment. Aplomb wall has retained it's decisive form and reinterprets via the oblique movement of the diffuser. The outer concrete blocks the light completely, from which the light is released from both the large opening at the top and the smaller opening at the bottom. This allows ambient beams of light effects reflected onto the walls and ceiling.
